OBITUARIES:

Welcome to NARPO Warwickshire

Your local branch of the National Association of Retired Police Officers

At NARPO Warwickshire, we value the service and commitment you gave to policing in Warwickshire. Our aim is to provide ongoing support, connection and community now that you’ve moved into the next chapter of life. Whether you’re newly retired or have been enjoying post-service life for some time, our branch offers a warm, inclusive network of former officers, staff and their families.

Welcome to the Warwickshire Branch of NARPO

A message from the Chairman

Our branch represents over 800 members, including retired officers, associates and widowed members living both locally and across the UK. We support NARPO’s core aims by offering guidance on welfare, health, pensions and life after policing, while promoting the rights and interests of retired officers.

With an active welfare network and regular social meet-ups across the county, we work to keep our community connected. The branch is run by an experienced committee, meeting quarterly with an AGM each March. New members are always welcome, and anyone who may be eligible is encouraged to get in touch.

Our Purpose & Vision

At NARPO Warwickshire, we totally support the national purpose and vision to support police officers beyond their years of active service. Our mission is built on a set of core themes that reflect who we are, what we stand for, and the values that guide our work.

Safeguarding Police Pensioner Rights

We work to protect the rights and entitlements of police pensioners, ensuring that members receive fair treatment, accurate information, and strong representation whenever it is needed.

Welfare Support

The wellbeing of our members is at the heart of what we do. We offer guidance and support through life’s challenges — whether related to mental health, physical health, long-term illness, or bereavement. No member should ever feel that they are facing difficulties alone.

Navigating Life After Policing

Leaving the force brings new opportunities as well as uncertainty. We help members prepare for the transition, offering insight into planning for the future, building new skills, and developing second careers.

Financial Planning & Member Benefits

Understanding pensions, tax, and long-term financial wellbeing can be complex. We provide access to trusted guidance and resources to help members make informed decisions and maximise the benefits available to them.

What we offer

Welfare & Advice – We provide practical help and guidance around pensions, injury on duty awards, state benefits, health & wellbeing, and more.

Social & Community Life – From local lunches and short breaks to larger gatherings, our members enjoy companionship and activity that keeps us connected.

Resources & Opportunities – Job and volunteering opportunities, useful links, historical material and a photo-gallery of our branch life.

Honouring Service & Memories – We record and publish minutes of meetings, preserve our Warwickshire policing history, share members’ policing memories and commemorate those we’ve lost in our Obituaries section.

Social Networking & Digital Confidence

Remaining connected is vital. We encourage strong social ties within the policing community and help members make effective use of IT and digital tools to stay informed, engaged, and connected.

Promoting Healthy Living

We advocate an active, healthy lifestyle, recognising the importance of maintaining physical and emotional wellbeing at all stages of life.

Combatting Isolation

No member should feel isolated, forgotten, or abandoned. We strive to maintain a supportive, inclusive community where everyone remains a valued part of the wider police family.

Celebrating the Diverse Police Family

We honour the rich diversity of experience across the policing world. NARPO brings together individuals from all roles and backgrounds, strengthening the bonds of a community built on shared service and respect.
